Life Coach

Entertainment Professional

Media Consultant

Life Coaching tends to focus on the present and future rather than the past. Coaches help people identify their goals and the obstacles they are facing. Like therapy, coaching involves guidance and support but also places a great deal of emphasis on accountability, enabling people to do more than they might on their own. In my coaching I help you with your goals and career paths. Homework is often assigned.

I help people move forward and set personal and professional goals that will give them the life they really want. Most life coaching clients are healthy, successful people who might be a bit stuck or simply want to make a big change in their lives and want the support of their own personal coach to do so.

ENTERTAINMENT PROFESSIONALS

Having worked for over 20 years in Television Production, I am sensitive to the unique situations and emotions held by this artistic profession. For many years I have worked with Actors, Musicians, Producers, Executives, Crew and Staff members. Having lived both careers as a producer (supervising 100’s of TV Industry people), and a therapist, I am aware of the challenges of a profession that is based on perfection, judgement, long hours, competitiveness, and comparisons that often affect our self esteem. Clients in the entertainment industry connect with me because I understand that no industry pushes the limit and boundaries of individuals employed more than entertainment. I understand the stressors and pressures and will help you with individually tailored plan for your needs.

One of the most important distinguishing factors between psychotherapists and coaches is that psychotherapists are trained to help people who are facing mental illnesses, and coaches are not. Even though a great deal of stigma exists around psychotherapy mental health problems are more common than ever, impacting about one in four Americans at some point in their lifetimes. If you are seeking help for a common mental health problem such as depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychotherapy is the way to go.

MEDIA CONSULTATION

As a television Producer for over 18 years I understand the production company's need to make “good TV”, top ratings and profits; as a psychotherapist I discern the responsibility to look after the guests/contestants and production company by the expertise that there is a fine line between watchable breakdowns and pure tragedy. For contestants/guests and their families the aftercare help is priceless. For production companies the treatment’s often a big blow to their budget, but increasingly beneficial to the bottom line and legal affairs.

I help consult on TV Shows and movies where mental illness is a subject, to help make sure that mental health is being represented in a proper, responsible light. I also support the actor in understanding his/her role more accurately. We are in the cusp of being more open about mental health and so its so important that the professional representation be utilized. I provide a special niche as a Psychotherapist and my 18 + years as a Line Producer, extensively interacting with Directors, producers, actors. crew, staff, business affairs, and the network. I have a keen eye, experience and a team player.

As a Television Aftercare Specialist/Producer, for over 12 years, I am hired by the production company to screen and meet guests before during and after the show. If the guest has mental health problems such as addiction, abuse, etc, it can stir up the issues and bring them to the forefront. When the show ends I am there to help provide support and often will refer guests for further care in their hometowns. I have numerous resources and professional contacts I have built in my time as an Aftercare Specialist.

A few shows I have worked on include Telepictures, Dr. Drew’s Life Changers Show;"Advice For Life" for Live Well; and Fox Television The New Ricki Lake Show, “The Psychic Show”, “Moral Code”, “The Test” “The T.D. Jakes Show” and “Face The Truth” for Stage 29 Productions. On Dr. Drew’s “Life Changers”, “The Test” and “Face The Truth” we often provided life changing psychological and physical interventions and part of my responsibilities was to locate the best experts and facilities to help our guests with free scholarships for a chance of a new life. I uphold the needed discernment and proficiency to interact and collaborate with Legal, Network, Production Staff and Crew.

In addition to being a consultant and After Care for Television shows, I have had numerous television appearances addressing current events, relationship issues, and other wide range topics.
